BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraqiya coalition President, Iyad Allawi discussed, in his office in Baghdad on Tuesday 3, Sept, with a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Integrity, Sabah al-Saadi the political process in Iraq.

A statement from Allawi's office said: "The two men discuss the political process and prospects to advance towards building a modern civil state, which provides freedom, safety, dignity and economic development."

The statement added: "The two sides stressed the right to demonstrate in order to claim rights, which is the true path to promote freedom of expression, regretting the actions of government against the demonstrators, which were unfortunate and irresponsible and reflect the ignorance of the most important pillars of the democratic process. / end
