Shafaq News/ The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, stated on Sunday that the federal government will continue to fund the monthly salaries of employees and workers in the public sector in the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Maliki's speech came to a number of media outlets after his meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, in Baghdad.
He added, “The delivery of employee salaries will continue (..) and there will be real and natural solutions to deliver them in all months,” adding that “the issue is not difficult, when there is a will for a solution and cooperation, as well as commitment to the constitution, all problems will be easy.”
Regarding the legislative elections in the Kurdistan Region, which are scheduled to be held next June, Al-Maliki denied discussing them during the state administration meeting held yesterday evening, Saturday.
He stated, "We heard that there is a decision from the region's presidency to postpone it until next October, but the High Elections Commission is working as if the vote will take place on the 10th of next June, and this is a technical issue related to the region and its authority to set the date for the elections."

The President of the Kurdistan Region arrived yesterday evening, Saturday, in the federal capital, Baghdad.
Nechirvan Barzani participated in the meeting of the State Administration Coalition, in the presence of Federal Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
Last Wednesday, Kurdistan Regional Presidency spokesman Dilshad Shihab said that the region's president, Nechirvan Barzani, will visit Baghdad soon to attend a regular meeting of the state administration coalition.
At the beginning of this April, the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region made a visit to the capital, Baghdad, during which he met with the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, and the Prime Minister of the Iraqi Federal Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and participated in the meeting of the State Administration Coalition and the Coordination Framework.
During his last visit, President Nechirvan Barzani discussed ways to solve the problems of Erbil and Baghdad, the political situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and a group of other issues.
