A senior political official said on Sunday that Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi had started moving to prevent a vote on the abolition of inspectors' offices.
The new Arab quoted the source as saying that "the anti-corruption council headed by Abdul Mahdi began to move from two sides to prevent the vote on the abolition of the offices of inspectors, through his attempts to pressure the Presidency of Parliament to prevent voting on the law, in addition to communication with the judiciary to veto any law will vote The parliament. "
The official, who asked not to be named, said that "Abdul-Mahdi insists that this law is not passed, especially that the Anti-Corruption Council evaluates the work of the inspectors' offices, and these evaluations must be officially completed in light of which to take appropriate decision to those offices to keep them or cancel them" , Explaining that "Abdul Mahdi does not accept that the parliament exceeds the Anti-Corruption Council."
He pointed out that "the Prime Minister believes that the work of Parliament should not interfere with the Anti-Corruption Council, and there should be coordination and cooperation between them, not opposed to the trends, as that does not benefit the fight against corruption."
A document circulated by local media showed a request by five MPs from the "Construction" coalition, Faleh al-Khazali, Abdul-Ilah al-Naeli, Yasser al-Maliki, Abd al-Samad and Mohammed al-Darraji to question the foreign minister.
