The agency stated in a statement received by Al-Sumaria News, “After receiving accurate intelligence information and complaints about the existence of thefts of salaries of employees and retirees in Babil Governorate, our agency’s detachments began intensifying search and investigation campaigns to pursue those behind the fraudulent operations, as a force from the agency was able to overthrow the network.” It consists of (9) defendants, stealing the salaries of employees, retirees, and similar ATM card holders.

He added, "This gang uses various means to defraud the victims by luring some of them through one of the Qi Card outlets to Al-Qaim District in Anbar Governorate and convincing the victim of the existence of bank advances, and after receiving the cards from them and the secret codes, the theft process takes place," noting that "the accused were found in possession of devices." Especially for automated withdrawals, printers, phones, and communications cards, which are used to carry out their fraudulent operations on citizens.”

In another qualitative operation, our agency's detachments in Babylon were also able to "dismantle a second network consisting of (4) people specialized in stealing bank money transfers, after conducting searches, prosecuting the accused, and arresting them in the capital, Baghdad."

The statement indicated, "Members of the network admitted that they were coordinating with a person of Arab nationality who lives in one of the neighboring countries who runs a fake website in the name of the Central Bank of Iraq to receive citizens' requests and trick them into the transfer process, and then rob them after forging their documents with other ones."

The statement continued, "The raids and arrests took place after obtaining judicial approvals, as the accused and the seized items were referred to the competent legal authorities to take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the law."
