    Kazem Al-Touki, a member of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, confirmed on Monday that the government is seeking to get rid of the pressure exerted by the Turkish government and the conditions it imposes in exchange for reopening its export ports through the port of Ceyhan, pointing out that the government has worked to dispose of the oil produced in the region through other ports as well as For local consumption.

    Al-Touki told Al-Maalouma, “There are many discussions that were held with the Turkish side in order to restore the oil export line towards the Turkish port of Ceyhan after the export stopped following a judicial decision from the Paris court.” 
    He added, "Turkey insists on some points and conditions that it seeks to impose on Iraq before reopening the door to Iraqi oil towards the port of Ceyhan." 
    He stated that "the Iraqi government, after many discussions and conditions that Turkey seeks to impose, has sought to find solutions to dispose of the quantities of oil produced within the region by distributing it to refineries, discharging it locally, or exporting it via the conveyor line to other export ports."
