Amman - The Capital Bank Group sponsored a dinner party hosted by the Association of Banks in Jordan, in honor of the Iraqi delegation participating in the Jordanian-Iraqi banking meeting, in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Adel Sharkas, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, His Excellency Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, and the Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors. His Excellency Bassem Khalil Al-Salem, and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Banks in Jordan, Mr. Ammar Al-Safadi, in addition to a number of dignitaries from Jordanian ministers and banks.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Capital Bank Group, Bassem Khalil Al-Salem, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Iraqi delegation, stressing the strength of the commercial and economic relationship that brings together Jordan and Iraq, noting that there are many opportunities available for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including That's the banking field.

Al-Salem highlighted the achievements of the Capital Bank Group, represented by the National Bank of Iraq, in the Iraqi market, noting that the bank has been able to achieve significant growth in recent years, and has become one of the most important banks operating in Iraq, as today it tops the list of banks operating in the Iraqi banking market in terms of total Assets approaching $2.8 billion.

Al-Salem expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Adel Sharkas, and the Central Bank’s work team for providing the appropriate and supportive environment for the growth and development of Jordanian banks and their excellence in the Arab and regional markets. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the "Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq", His Excellency Mr. Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, for the support he provides to facilitate Foreign bank investments in the Iraqi banking market.

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Salem expressed his hope that the meeting would contribute to strengthening cooperation between Jordanian and Iraqi banks, and achieving more achievements in the banking field in the region.

Capital Bank Group's sponsorship of the dinner in honor of the Iraqi delegation comes within the framework of the group's keenness to strengthen economic relations between Jordan and Iraq, and to support cooperation between banks in the two countries.

There is going to be massive trade going on with the re-construciton effort that is beginning to set up now right before our eyes.
