Pentagon: North Korean submarines ready to attack America

North Korea's submarines have become unusually active a few days after North Korea's launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, the Pentagon said.

The Pentagon said the North Korean submarines were "unprecedented", as well as evidence of a "cool" test of missile launch at the Sinbo shipyard.

According to US media reports, the missile test, on Sunday, was the third test of its kind this month and the fourth this year.
North Korea conducted its second test in a month to launch a rocket on Friday.

According to the information of the North Korean government agency "KCNA", the test was successful, the rocket reached 3725 kilometers and a distance of 998 kilometers in about 47 minutes, and then fell in the Sea of Japan.

Monitor the unprecedented activities of the North Korean submarines by the US Navy

    08:27 - 02/08/2017

A US military official said the United States had detected unprecedented North Korean submarines and evidence that Pyongyang had tested a missile launch system at the end of last month.

The new test was aimed at testing the "cold release" system, which uses high vapor pressure here, which protects the submarine or the launch system from damage, CNN quoted the unnamed official as saying on Wednesday.

The official confirmed that the latest launch was the third of its kind in July and the fourth since the beginning of the year, and was behind Pyongyang's announcement of the second successful launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

The test was conducted at Sinbo Marine Base, the official said, adding that the test played a major role in the development of submarines capable of firing rockets.

In this regard, the official pointed out that a North Korean S-O submarine carried out a mission in the Yellow Sea between China and the Korean Peninsula, in addition to the monitoring of two Romeo submarines near the coast of Japan, each active in the region for a week .

The report added that reports of intensification of North Korean submarines and news of new releases have heightened regional and international concerns, especially after Pyongyang announced last Friday the second successful launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile targeting the largest cities in the United States.

The North Korean submarine fleet includes 70 submarines, but the majority are old and unable to fire rockets, but recent developments show that Pyongyang is actively working on the development of the program, which will apparently lead to escalation in the Tension, not only on the Korean Peninsula, but also in the world at large

The news stories always leave out the part that N. Korea said it will stop testing missiles when the US stops massing forces and having war games on their southern border.
