Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that he expected other countries to follow the example of the United States in relation to Jerusalem.
"We are in contact with other countries, and we will make a similar decision regarding the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," Netanyahu said at a videotaped diplomatic conference at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
"I have no doubt that more embassies will move to Jerusalem after the transfer of the US embassy," he said, without mentioning the identity of these countries.
Netanyahu praised Trump's decision, saying that "President Trump has linked himself forever to the history of our capital."
This comes after the US president's decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem and recognize it as the capital of Israel, which provoked angry reactions inside Palestine and from many Arab and Islamic countries.
