Qatar gives US company a contract to design expansions of the North Field
Qatar Petroleum announced that drilling operations in the project to increase the production of natural gas from the North Field will begin in 2019.
The company said in a statement, read by "Economy News", that it "awarded the detailed design contract and approved designs for the implementation of the lists of production platforms in the project to increase production Natural gas from the North Field to the American company McDermott. "
Qatar Petroleum noted that the detailed design contract is an important step towards the awarding of the procurement, manufacturing and installation contract by the end of this year, which will pave the way for the start of drilling operations.
The contract signed with McDermott is part of a broader maritime business that includes six production platforms, crane lists and major offshore pipelines to provide 4.6 billion cubic feet of gas per day from the North Field, the world's largest gas production field.
