Iraq has asked the Iraqi government not to announce the schedule of the visit of Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif to Baghdad and Erbil at the head of a political and economic delegation, which started on Sunday.
According to the sources, Tehran justified its request that its embassy in the Iraqi capital will take over the media minister's program, which angered parliamentary blocs and prompted it to consider the order "Iranian tutelage" on Iraq.
The sources said according to the newspaper "Okaz" Saudi Arabia that the Iranian embassy prepared a comprehensive program of the Foreign Minister, including meetings with parliamentary blocs and leaders of the "popular crowd" precedes any official meetings with him, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Halabousi and President Barham Saleh.
She added that Zarif holds political files, most notably the crisis of completing the formation of the new government, and the Iraqi position of the US sanctions on his country.
The sources pointed out that Zarif was accompanied by large economic figures and businessmen, while Washington is exerting pressure on Baghdad to push it to abandon its economic cooperation with Tehran.
The sources explained that Zarif will provide the Iraqi government specific Iranian proposals to circumvent the US sanctions on his country, without specifying the nature of these proposals, and merely said that this matter will be discussed by Minister Zarif with officials of the Kurdistan Region in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah tomorrow (Tuesday).

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday began a visit to Iraq, including Baghdad, the Kurdistan region and Najaf, to meet with political and economic leaders in the country, a few days after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on Baghdad to stop relying on Iran for energy.
Iran is Iraq's second source. Baghdad received a temporary exemption from Washington as the latest package of US sanctions against Iran began.
If Bombay called on Baghdad on Wednesday not to rely on Iran for energy, Baghdad and Tehran on Sunday called for more exchanges.
"We discussed unilateral American economic sanctions against our neighbor (Iran)," Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim said.
The Iraqi and Iranian ministers told a joint press conference that they discussed "political and economic relations" between their two countries.
Zarif stressed that "Iraqi-Iranian relations are not against a specific party, nor do we allow anyone to disturb these relations."
On Thursday, Iran's oil minister called on Baghdad to "strengthen cooperation with Iraq," especially in the oil and energy fields.
As of Monday, Zarif will participate in several economic forums in Iraqi cities, including Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region.
In 2017, Iraq imported 5.7 billion euros of Iranian consumer goods. In addition, Baghdad buys 28 million cubic meters of Iranian gas per day to operate power plants and directly imports 1,300 megawatts of electricity.
On the other hand, the two ministers called for the "return of Syria to the Arab League" after the suspension of its membership in 2011 because of the dispute.

    - Iranian Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said during his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif that Iraq's policy is based on establishing the best relations with all its neighbors and looking forward to a better future for bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic.
He said he was satisfied with the talks, which he described as successful in Tehran and hoped that mutual visits between the two countries' officials would enhance bilateral relations.
For his part, Zarif stressed the Islamic Republic's stand on the side of Iraq and its government, strengthening its political and democratic system and seeking to expand relations between the two countries in all fields. According to a statement by the office of Abdul Mahdi.
