    Haugen Omar said, in a press statement, that "the President of the Republic insists on holding the elections on time despite the challenges, denying the authenticity of the reports that speak of the President's desire to postpone the elections."
    This came in response to statements made by the head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, in which he said that the President of the Republic had requested to postpone the elections scheduled for next October.
