    The Ministry of Commerce said, on Tuesday, that the items of the food basket have been examined and imported from solid origins, and that rumors of doubts about its expiration date “lack credibility.”
    "The food basket materials are subject to examination through national laboratories that have the ISO certificate granted by the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control," said the official spokesman for the ministry, Muhammad Hanoun.
    He added, "There are many conversations by some weak-minded people that the materials are expired, but they lack credibility," noting that "the ministry continues to prepare the food basket materials for citizens within the fourth portion, which includes rice, cooking oil, sugar, legumes, and tomato paste, while preparing to prepare the fifth food basket." And the months that follow because of the presence of large storages estimated at thousands of tons, enough to be distributed in the coming months.
    Hanoun added, in a press statement, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "distributing food baskets at specific times has created a state of balance in the prices of basic materials in the local markets."
