Today, Thursday, the Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa, revealed a project to connect the two-story and suspension bridges in central Baghdad, while indicating that projects to relieve bottlenecks are proceeding at an accelerated pace thanks to the follow-up of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
Musa said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that “the next and penultimate project in the package of projects to remove bottlenecks is the completion of the two-story bridge towards the suspension bridge, as the foundation stone for it will be laid within a short period,” stressing that “the year “The current year 2024 will be a year of achievements.”
He added, "In the near future, the first bridge from the first package will be opened and entered into service, which is the Fine Arts Intersection bridge. The openings of the bridges will follow successively after their completion by the companies operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities," noting that "the completion rates are very advanced, and some are even advanced." On the work schedule that has been set for these companies.”
He pointed out that "Aden Intersection is proceeding at faster steps than the work progress schedule, and in the middle of this year or before it will be opened and put into service," noting that "the Al-Rasheed Camp Tunnel is also carrying out work at a high pace, 24 hours a day."
He stressed that "these works require time and effort as they are huge works," reassuring citizens that "the works are progressing at a high pace and speed thanks to the follow-up of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, as well as the field follow-up of the Minister of Reconstruction, and the joint follow-up by the Baghdad Municipality."
