    A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee, Thaer al-Jubouri, confirmed today, Friday, the existence of Iraqi-Turkish-Iranian discussions to share water.
     Al-Jubouri told Al-Maalouma, “The Minister of Water Resources has a clear speech to secure Iraq’s water shares, through which discussions were held with Turkey and Iran to guarantee the country’s water rights.”
    He added, "Securing water shares cannot happen overnight, as the riparian countries are governed by international laws, according to which water and melted snow are shared."
    He explained, “International law gives a larger amount of water to the country where the river runs over longer distances than the countries bordering it, but this law was not agreed upon between Iraq, Turkey, and Iran.” End 25 n
