Al-Maliki said in an interview with Al-Sumaria News, “The primary goal of forming the State Property Monitoring Committee is to preserve government real estate properties specifically,” noting that “the work of the committee will verify two things. The first is the extent of the legality of its occupancy by parties that may be private or may be private.” In general, the second issue is the extent of the economic feasibility of its occupancy process, and is there any unfairness in the financial compensation for its occupancy process?

Al-Maliki added, "The committee's work will be dangerous as it may be a direct confrontation with parties that unlawfully seize state property and real estate. Therefore, we will deal with these files as secrets and then submit our reports to the Presidency of Parliament after completing the investigations," pointing out that "the main reason is “The formation of this committee is to preserve public money.”
