The parliamentary legal committee determines its position of replacing Talabani after his doctor's visit

BAGHDAD
/ NINA / A member of the parliamentary legal committee, Mohsen
al-Sadoun said, "The Committee will determine its position on the
replacement of President Jalal Talabani after the visit by his doctor to
Germany and determine his health condition."
He said in a
statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / today May 14: "The
Talabani's doctor Dr. Najimalddin Karim said he is going to Germany and
he has good news about the health of Talabani, so we will wait for the
visit and then we will take legal action according to the doctor's
report."
Sadoun added: "There are certain situations allow the
vice president to take power of the president more than a month if the
president has a sick leave, which is being open and not constrained by a
month, but this situation also has an end according to the doctor's
report of the president."
He pointed out that "the prosecution
has no legal authority to interfere with the affairs of the legislative
branch, as it is not the prerogative of the prosecution, because the
presidential election stipulated in the Constitution in case of his
absence or other cases."
The presidency of the general
prosecution asked the Presidency of the Council of Representatives,
yesterday, to take legal action on the vacancy of the president. / End
