The arrest of 75 of the instigators of sectarian strife in Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters)
- Interior Minister Qassim al-Araji said on Wednesday that 75 suspects had been arrested in a bid to stir up sectarian strife in the country, while the ministry was working to ease security measures.
In a joint press conference with Najaf Governor Luay al-Yasiri, al-Araji said that during his visit to Najaf, he thanked him for "maintaining the success of the security and service plan to visit the Imam Hussein shrine."
"75 people have been arrested in the country," he said, adding that his ministry was working to ease security measures.
"We are ready to receive visitors from all over the world to visit Imam Ali on the anniversary of the Prophet's death," said Yasiri.
The Interior Minister arrived in Najaf on Wednesday morning for an inspection visit to meet provincial officials and discuss the security plan on the anniversary of the Prophet's death.
