    The outgoing Prime Minister, Haider Abadi, held an emergency meeting with a number of members of the House of Representatives of the province of Basra in the presence of Governor As'ad al-Eidani.

    The statement pointed out that "In order to activate the decisions mentioned in the decision of the Council of Ministers this day entrusted responsibility for the implementation of these decisions, the governor of Basra, As'ad al-Eidani and the local government with the delegation of administrative and financial powers of the province of Basra and grant the necessary exemptions of the instructions in accordance with specific timetables to facilitate and accelerate the implementation of projects that Including water desalination and desalination projects, rehabilitation of water distribution networks and the extension of new tanker lines to provide sufficient quantities of water for different areas. " 
    On the other hand, the security situation was reviewed in the city of Basra and the participants stressed the need to calm the situation and investigate what happened and refused the attacks and the destruction of public property.
    He called on the people of Basra province to cooperate with the security forces in uncovering the offensive elements and to miss the opportunity for them to provide the appropriate conditions for launching the implementation of approved projects, while praising the high discipline of citizens to express their legitimate demands.
