A deputy from Nineveh province, on Friday, sent a letter to Prime Minister Adel Abdi al-Mahdi, accusing "security officers" of obstructing the entry of 1642 trucks loaded with grain to the province.
MP Ahmed Madloul Jarba said in his letter, "To the Prime Minister, esteemed .. Did you know that there are 1642 trucks loaded with grain and parked from the date of August 2 in front of the Silwat province of Nineveh, specifically Silo Tal Afar, Al-Wailiya, Makhmour and Bazawia."
The MP explained in his letter that "the load of these trucks is estimated at 65 thousand tons," noting that "most of these trucks belong to simple peasants."
"There are security officers who have blocked the receipt of these crops and I do not know why they intervened by rejecting the crops of the farmers of Nineveh province," he told the prime minister.
"Therefore, I ask you to immediately instruct the Ministry of Commerce, in order to start from September 22, to receive the cargo of these trucks, because the duration of these trucks in front of the doors of the silos exceeded 50 days," he said.
