The official of the Turkmen Front in Kirkuk Governorate, Qahtan al-Wandawi, confirmed today, Friday, the imminent formation of the Kirkuk local government, indicating that there is an almost identical viewpoint between the political parties to get out of the governorate’s crisis.
Al-Wandawi told Al-Maalouma, “The law does not allow the parties in the governorate to resort to re-elections, but all parties in the governorate are close to reaching an agreement to form the local government.”
He explained, “There is optimism generated by the political movement to resolve the crisis and produce positive results that serve Kirkuk and lead to the formation of the local government.” End 25 n.
