Writer and political analyst Karim Badr revealed on Thursday that the announcement of the development project was an American dictate carried out by the Sudanese to kill the Silk Road.
Al-Badr said in a statement to the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency, “There is no development, since the project was signed by the Minister of Transport and has nothing to do with development, and it can be called the ‘dry’ road,” noting that “Iraq gave the project to a competing party, Turkey, the Emirates, and Qatar, to attack Al-Faw port in the region for the sake of a port.” Dubai.”

He added, “Iraq’s role in this road does not go beyond being a truck driver or porter for the Emirati and Qatari, and the issue is purely political,” pointing out that “this project is a violation of Iraq’s strategic value and position in the region.”
He pointed out that "the Iraqi media seems to be politicized by America because it ignored the important Silk Project and the many details it will provide the country, including a society with a shared future, an industrial system, and an educational system for 17 billion dollars annually in an oil country whose imports are estimated at more than 100 billion dollars."
Al-Badr concluded by saying: “The Silk Road was almost the economic salvation of Iraq, as it represents an integrated joint economic project,” pointing out that it “creates a shared future for the people with the largest economic countries that now control 80% of the world’s raw materials, represented by China.”
It is noteworthy that at the end of 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative was announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and the primary focus was on investment in infrastructure, railways and highways. The project covers 66 countries on three continents, namely Asia, Europe and Africa, and is divided into three levels. It includes pivotal regions, expansion areas, and sub-regions. End 25
