On Thursday, Representative Alia Nassif clarified the fact that she was fined 20 million dinars in compensation due to allegations of defamation of a corrupt person.
Nassif's media office stated, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "a handful of corrupt people known to us colluded with a figure in a high government position and promoted a publication that included summoning the deputy to look into the allegations of one of the corrupt people who filed a lawsuit against her for defamation in 2019, but Justice was achieved and the experts’ report was in its favour, and these corrupt people also put a comment under the summons to delude people that the court had fined her twenty million dinars, and this is a lie and slander in the name of the judiciary, and it is a crime for which the law will be held accountable, and the promoters of this false publication will be referred to the competent courts to receive their just punishment.
He added: "These corrupt people are known to us, and they are (H. Al-Tamimi) and (Al-Khafaji St.), in addition to a figure in a government position close to the hierarchy of power (a former inspector) who agreed to descend to this level, unfortunately, knowing that some honorable people picked up the number One of the promoters called and it turned out that it belonged to a government agency, and this is a resounding scandal.”
