Today, Wednesday, a parliamentary meeting with the Minister of Transport discussed a number of files, including the Faw port, the Baghdad and Basra metro, and airline contracts.
A statement from the office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stated that the latter "today chaired an expanded meeting of the Transport and Communications Committee, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, "Nasser Al-Shibli" and the advanced cadre in the ministry."
The statement added, "During the meeting, Al-Mandalawi discussed a number of important files that the Ministry of Transport is concerned with, foremost of which is (the port of Faw and the percentage of completion in it, the Baghdad and Basra metro, the public and private transport file, as well as the railway file, and Iraqi Airways contracts)."

The First Deputy stressed "the need for concerted efforts at all levels to bring about a major shift in the transport sector," calling for "continued coordination between the Transport and Communications Committee and the Ministry of Transport to exchange visions and proposals to develop this sector."
