On Saturday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee dispelled concerns about raising the estimated oil price within the 2023 budget, indicating that oil prices will not fall below $75 per barrel during the current year.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said in a press statement, "The government's approval of the price of a barrel of oil at $70 does not include any concerns, since some oil countries have approved their budgets for this year between $70 and $75 per barrel of oil, based on studies by specialized research centers."
He added, "The second reduction of OPEC Plus contributed to raising global oil prices, and the coherence of OPEC and OPEC Plus to reduce will prevent a drop in oil prices, at least this year."
He pointed out that "the fiscal surplus with the government and the good cash reserve with the central bank are enough to support the budget in the event of a sudden drop in oil prices, but this matter is very unlikely at the present time."
