The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, revealed on Thursday some of the contents of the meeting he held with Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
Masrour Barzani said in a statement after the end of his meeting with Al-Sudani, received by Mawazine News, “We met with Qubad Talabani and our accompanying delegation in the Kurdistan Regional Government, with Federal Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani in Baghdad, and we held a meeting during which we stressed the necessity of resolving the problems in accordance with the constitution and the signed agreements.” ".
According to the statement issued by Masrour Barzani, the delegation reaffirmed “not to involve the issue of the Kurdistan Region’s financial rights and employees’ salaries with political disputes, and the necessity of resolving this issue as quickly as possible, in a way that ensures that the financial rights of salary recipients in the region are not delayed.”
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government added, "We reminded everyone that the Kurdistan Regional Government has fulfilled all its obligations, and we also expect the same from the federal government."
He pointed out that "Al-Sudani expressed his readiness to address the problems at home, including employee salaries, under the umbrella of the constitution and laws, and stressed the support of all parties and the provision of political support in order to find a solution to all problems as soon as possible."
Barzani pointed out, “We realize that Iraq has enormous human and natural wealth, and by creating an appropriate environment and good management, the entire country will move to a more advanced and prosperous stage.”
Masrour Barzani, at the head of a senior government delegation, accompanied by his deputy, Qubad Talabani, arrived on Thursday in the capital, Baghdad, to hold discussions and hold several meetings to discuss disputes regarding the Kurdistan Region’s entitlements in the country’s general budget, according to what the Information Department of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government reported.
