Former MP Ghaleb Muhammad Ali confirmed that there is no veto on Iraq regarding its possession of air defense systems to protect Iraqi airspace from any violation or air violation.

Ali told Al-Maalouma, “Turkey rules the Kurdistan region with military forces controlling the region’s airspace by land and air as if Kurdistan is part of Turkey and not part of Iraq.”
He added, "The regional government is throwing the ball in the federal government's court regarding controlling the airspace, while if Baghdad works to place air defense systems in the region, Erbil will reject that.
