, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee discussed with the Ministry of Electricity the ministry’s plan to prepare electrical energy for the year 2024. A
statement from the committee stated, “The Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee, headed by Muhammad Nouri Al-Abd Rabbuh Bakhit, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Nizar Al-Tamimi, and the staff advancing the ministry’s plan.” To prepare electrical energy for the year 2024, which aims to reach 24-hour supply throughout Iraq.
The committee stressed, according to the statement, “the need for the plan to include several stages, starting with increasing production capabilities through rehabilitating and operating old stations, building new stations, and drawing a road map to reach the implementation and formulation of the stages of preparing electrical energy, to ensure that electricity reaches all citizens in a fair manner.” ".
The committee discussed with the delegation the mechanism for implementing service collection, installing smart meters, and electronic transfer of accounts, while the committee listened to an explanation about the implementation of project contracts. The delegation pointed out the formation of a committee to evaluate companies applying for contracts and announce solid companies to implement electronic transformation projects, in addition to selecting the candidate areas in Baghdad.
