The Ministry of Interior confirmed the validity of circulating the electronic passport outside Iraq.
Ministry spokesman, Brigadier General Miqdad Al-Moussawi, said in a press statement, followed by Al-Iqtisad News, “There is no official notification from any country refusing to use the Iraqi electronic passport.”
He explained that the Iraqi electronic passport is used in all countries of the world, and there was reservation from some companies, and this form was resolved.
Al-Mousawi pointed out, “We have opened 11 offices for electronic passports for Iraqis abroad in Europe, Asia, and Africa, and we aspire for the number to reach 60 offices during the next year.”
On May 6, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani opened the electronic passport window and supervised the issuance of the first electronic passport copy in Iraq.
