Parliamentary law reveals the fact that an emergency session was held to elect a Speaker of Parliament

{Politics: Al-Furat News} Today, Sunday, the Parliamentary Legal Committee revealed the fact that an emergency session was held to resolve the file of the Speaker of Parliament this week.
The debate is still raging in the political corridors about who will assume the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives after the dismissal of Muhammad Al-Halbousi from his position last month, and the Federal Supreme Court announced last November 14 the termination of Al-Halbousi’s membership as Deputy and Speaker of Parliament.
With more than two weeks having passed since Al-Halbousi’s dismissal, local media are circulating many names to assume the position, which always goes according to followed political custom.
Ahmed Fawaz, a member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, told Al-Furat News Agency: “Until now, we have not been informed of any emergency session being held in the House of Representatives to elect a new Speaker of the House.”
He added, "Talk about holding an emergency session during the current week to resolve the issue of the presidency of Parliament is not official."
