Union of Contractors for «Economy News»: This year will see the payment of receivables contractors in full
The Iraqi Contractors Union announced on Wednesday that the central government will pay 40% of the contractors 'entitlements, indicating that this year will see payment of contractors' dues in full.
The government postponed payments of contractors due to financial and administrative corruption in the country, which asked the Audit Bureau to audit them, which reduced from 7 trillion dinars to 5 trillion dinars in addition to the financial crisis that swept the country in 2014 as a result of falling oil prices.
The head of the Union of Iraqi contractors Ali al-Sanafi said in a statement to "Economy News" that "the Union received 40% of the benefits of contractors and left 60% will be paid by the government in the first two installments during the current year."
He added that "the benefits of contractors totaling 4.7 trillion dinars, and the 40% received by contractors amounted to 1.150 trillion dinars.
