    Today, Friday, the Minister of Electricity in charge, Adel Karim, confirmed the introduction of the Wasit thermal station into service in the middle of next month, which produces more than 2.5 gigawatts, which represents more than 10% of Iraq's energy production.
    A ministry statement stated, "The Minister of Electricity in charge inspected the Wasit Thermal Power Station, accompanied by the Director General of Production for the Central Region, Ali Ahmed Hassan, and a delegation of general managers and advisors."
    He added that "the minister began the visit by conducting a field tour between the corridors of the station, and inquired about the mechanism of work and maintenance of the station that feeds the national system with (2,540 megawatts), especially the maintenance of the first obstetric unit, and the examination of the turbine bearings for the sixth unit that will supply the system with (610 megawatts), and a mechanism Operating the fifth unit with a capacity of (310 megawatts) accomplished by our national staff.”
    He continued, "The minister was briefed on the reality of the work of the control rooms, the mechanism for maintaining air heaters and the readiness of the boiler in the second obstetric unit, and the follow-up to the operation of the fourth unit with the advantages of efficiency and energy, and taking into account its connection to the system after monitoring its frequencies. and hydrogen,
    And maintenance of boilers that need to be maintained due to the combustion of gases and heat, which have been 80% completed, which will enter service during the middle of the next fifth month.”
    Karim directed "the necessity of compressing the time ceilings for all ongoing maintenance, and the importance of standing up to the efficiency of the operators, both owners and contracts, with a trend towards training the staff of the Salah al-Din Thermal Station in Zubaidi, and putting them in the operating workshops."
