On Sunday, the Ministry of Oil announced the issuance of an arrest warrant against MP Zahra Al-Bajari on charges of filing a malicious lawsuit against Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar.
A statement by the ministry, received by Mawazine News, stated that the Basra Federal Court of Appeal "to achieve integrity" issued a warrant for the arrest and investigation of the accused, "Zahra Hamza Ali Al-Bajari", the current member of the House of Representatives, on charges of misleading justice, the judiciary and public opinion by submitting it more than "35". The statement continued, quoting a legal source in the ministry, that, after inquiring about the Federal Court’s decision regarding the immunity of the deputy, it confirmed, in turn, the text of “Legal measures are taken without the approval of the House of Representatives or its president in the event that the representative is accused of committing a crime of misdemeanors and violations that have nothing to do with his work within Parliament or one of its committees” and this is what obliges the Ministry of Interior to implement the decision to arrest and investigate the above accused immediately.
