Within 6 months, more than 150,000 transit trucks crossed from an Iranian border crossing to Iraq
Shafaq News/ Fribers Karmi, Director General of Roads and Land Transport in Kermanshah Province (western Iran), said on Saturday that more than 156,000 transit trucks crossed from the border ports of the province adjacent to the Iraqi border within six months.
Karmi said in a statement carried by the semi-official Iranian news agency Fars that: During the first six months of the current Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2022), 156,281 heavy vehicles crossed from 5 border crossings in Kermanshah Province, an increase of 2.5 % compared to the same period last year.
He added that the Parvizkhan border port is the largest economic highway from Iran to Iraq, and the largest volume of Iranian non-oil goods exports are exported from this international border port, and the largest traffic of the cargo fleet with 50 thousand and 387 trucks takes place through this border port.
The Director General of Roads and Land Transport in Kermanshah Province indicated that 42,416 heavy vehicles crossed from Khosravi border port, an increase of 47% compared to the same period last year, and 27,740 vehicles crossed from Sumar border port, an increase of 5.5 times compared to the same period. from last year.
He continued by saying: 22,100 vehicles crossed from the Sheikh Silah border crossing, and 13,738 vehicles crossed from the Shushmi border crossing.
He noted that the total transit of trucks from the border crossings of Kermanshah province amounted to more than 156,000 heavy vehicles, with a tonnage of 3 million and 82 thousand tons in the first half of this year, an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year.
