The Iraqi Private Banks Association discussed, on Wednesday, with the Ministry of Planning, financing investment projects and activating partnership between the public and private sectors.
A statement by the ministry stated that "Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, discussed with Wadih al-Handal, head of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, and his accompanying delegation the role of the development banking sector and financing investment projects, within the framework of work to achieve partnership between the public and private sectors." ".
The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the mechanisms for activating the Private Sector Development Council, which is chaired by the Minister of Planning, and the need to work on enacting a law for this council due to its importance in supporting and empowering the private sector, which has many tasks ahead of it.
Al-Handal and members of the delegation reviewed "the most prominent social and economic activities that are being implemented by the Association of Iraqi Private Banks in Baghdad and a number of provinces, as well as addressing the future prospects of the banking sector in Iraq."
