[ltr][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]BAGHDAD - Iraq Press - February 6: The Face ofIraqi Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi Sunday, totake the necessary measures to protect Iraqi interests, against the backdrop of a decree by US President Donald Trump, ban the entry of nationalsof seven predominantly Muslim countries including Iraq to America for 90 days.
This came in a statement issued after a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security , headed by al - Abadi.
The statement released Sunday said that the Cabinet discussed the impact of the new US administration decisions on the political, security, economic, trade and cultural relations within the strategic framework agreement signed between the two countries in 2008.
The agreement paved the way for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq by end of 2011, eight years after the invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein 's regime, and that Convention governing bilateral relations at all levels, military and economic, educational, cultural, especially.
