16 States Have Now Asked The Supreme Court To Hear, And Revive, The Travel Ban

Early into his presidential tenure, Donald Trump announced an executive order that would temporarily suspend refugees from certain areas coming into the United States. Even though this was meant to protect the people of the United States, liberals threw a fit.
After his original ban was rejected by the courts, Trump’s second order was created. That too, was denied by the liberal courts. However, a legal battle is on the rise, and Trump just received help from a number of states.
Texas, along with 15 other states, have filed briefs with the Supreme Court to reinstate the travel ban. The states claim that President Trump has the powers under the law to decide who can and cannot come into the United States.
They have also fought back against what the lower courts have said about the policy.
“The Executive Order classifies aliens by nationality — not religion. The Order’s temporary pause in entry by nationals from six countries and in the refugee program neither mentions any religion nor depends on whether affected aliens are Muslim. The Executive Order therefore is emphatically not a ‘Muslim ban.’”
Despite What Protesters Have Said About The Order, It’s Not A Muslim Ban.
The 16 states are as follows: Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Mississippi.
As mentioned before, the lower courts have stopped Trump’s order, but that will be changing soon. Last week, Trump’s administration had asked the Supreme Court to take on the case.
In addition, they asked that the injunctions be removed, which would allow the vetting policy to take place. What makes the least bit of sense is that the six countries put on the ban were identified by the Obama administration as nations with terrorist connections.
In other words, even though these nations were on a list BEFORE Trump was inaugurated, they still slammed it. It’s like they are asking for trouble.
