    The director of training and management of the Association of Iraqi private banks, Ahmed al-Hashemi, said Sunday that the advancement of the financial sector needs to plan to build a precise phase aimed at bringing the best systems and technology experienced by the global financial sector, and of course, this is the axis of creating a rival financial sector at the level of the region And the world, pointing out that this trend needs local expertise able to deal with these advanced systems.
    "The Association recognizes the importance of the subject and adopted training plans monthly and quarterly and annually under the supervision of the Central Bank and two sessions a month and accommodate each session more than (100) participants from public and private banks," he said in an interview published by the newspaper (morning) "The banking sector has begun to realize the importance of preparing banking competencies in a way that benefits this important component and that the move towards advanced technology is now the most important step in this regard."
    Hashemi pointed out that "the courses cover all aspects of banking, including money laundering, terrorism financing, risk management and compliance, as well as opening accounts and financial investigations."
    He added that the association is looking forward to organizing a professional qualification program accredited by the Iraqi Institute for Training and Development, in cooperation with Iraqna Company for Training and Development, to award a specialized certificate from the American Institute of Internal Oversight (ICI).
    He pointed out that the success of the training programs came after the banking departments confirmed the importance of developing the advanced competencies and the desire to own and confirm the central to this important chapter, pointing out that the trend will change the reality of the domestic financial sector and move it to better levels commensurate with the strength of the national economy at the regional and international levels.
    He pointed out that "the training courses are conducted under the supervision of international expertise with the knowledge and know-how in need of the Iraqi financial market, where work is being done to deliver international standards to our banking sector in accordance with local laws for the benefit."
