Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporter, has cut crude supplies to its biggest oil buyers in Asia in November as the kingdom looks to meet its commitment to an OPEC-led deal to cut supplies, informed sources said on Wednesday.
Commercial sources said state-owned Saudi Aramco had cut its supplies to at least three Japanese buyers and a buyer in South Korea of up to 10 percent of Saudi Arabia's various raw materials.
Some buyers in China will receive less Saudi crude, she said. The sources asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
At least one buyer from North Asia asked for less oil after Saudi Arabia raised its benchmark light crude for November to a 16-month high, a source said.
The kingdom has cut exports to Japan, its biggest customer in Asia for the second month, but Japan's imports of Saudi oil rose in the first nine months of 2017 by 15 percent from the same period a year ago, according to Thomson Reuters data.
China's imports of Saudi oil rose 1 percent during the period to 39.1 million tonnes from a year earlier.
A number of customers in Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and at least one buyer in Japan will receive all the contracted quantities as Saudi Arabia aspires to maintain its market share in the world's fastest-growing region in terms of oil demand, the sources said. Ending / 25
