    The United Arab Emirates on Thursday confirmed the presence of US ground forces inside US military bases in Iraq, contrary to Iraqi official assurances that there were no ground troops and bases.
    "American forces are in a number of American bases, such as Ain al-Assad, al-Qayara and Balad, as well as in Erbil, where there are US ground forces," the newspaper said in a report read by the source.
     The source added that "what is announced is that they are advisers, but it is clear that there is an American presence, especially in Kurdistan."
    The newspaper pointed out that "these statements, which talk about the presence of US troops not only advisers contradict with all the assurances of the Iraqi official bodies, led by Prime Minister Abadi himself, the absence of land forces" foreign "inside Iraq.

    The National Alliance MP Ahmed al-Asadi, on Thursday, that the parliament will follow up information revealed by a Saudi newspaper on the presence of US ground forces and bases in Iraq, pointing to the presence of American advisers and trainers currently in the country.
    Al-Asadi said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "there are no assurances to date about the presence of US combat ground forces on Iraqi soil," noting that "the Iraqi government denies this on an ongoing basis."
