[rtl] Mubasher: Fitch renewed warnings about the downgrade of the United States, due to the debt problem suffered by the largest economy in the world.[/rtl]
    [rtl]
"If Washington continues to pay interest on key government bonds and does not go to meet other domestic obligations, it will not be in line with the AAA rating," Fitch Ratings Chairman James McCormack told Reuters on Wednesday.

Press reports said this week that the US Treasury Secretary had asked Republican leaders in Congress to raise the federal debt ceiling by February 28.

The Congressional Budget Office said the US Treasury would exhaust all borrowing options to pay its bills by the end of March or early April.

On August 5, 2011 , S & P lowered the credit rating for the United States for the first time ever and the only one in its history.

The decision came after the US Congress approved on August 1 to reduce the debt ceiling to $ 2.1 trillion, with expectations that this would suffice for borrowing until 2013.

This is not the first time that Fitch has warned against the debt ceiling. In August, the agency said that the US debt rating could be reviewed in the coming weeks with possible negative effects on government funding problems and disagreement over raising the debt ceiling for the new budget.
