A spokesman for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Ammar Menem denied any increase in the amounts of social protection during the current year.

In a press statement, Menem said that the Cabinet approved an increase in the social protection funds by 650 billion dinars in 2016. This increase was paid in 2017, pointing out that the Council of Ministers did not order any further increase in the amounts of social protection during this year.

The Prime Minister Haider Abadi, during his attendance at the parliament session last Wednesday, raised the proportion of social protection budget to 60%.
