The judge and former MP Wael Abdul Latif revealed on Friday the participation of the Ministry of Communications in the deployment of electronic armies, stressing that the ministry can combat this, but quotas and political interests prevent the banning of armies.
"The electronic armies are mostly deployed before the elections and indicate the weakness of their leadership and funding," Abdullatif said in a statement. "The people can not change their view of all those who misuse it. Improve their image among the people ".
"The electronic armies are a weak weapon and operate in secret with the support of influential political figures," he said. "Legal punishment is difficult to find because the law guarantees freedom of opinion and expression."
He pointed out that "the Ministry of Communications can work with Facebook and other social media, in order to block suspicious sites and propagate misconceptions, but it may also be common and supportive of these armies in accordance with political interests."
