warned a Qatari newspaper, from an Arab conflict on the post of speaker of parliament in the coming period, while stressing that the Kurdish parties demanded the National Alliance for the post.

The newspaper said the new Arab in a report, followed by Alsumaria News, "Kurdish parties intensified for weeks, efforts to convince the partners of the political process by granting the presidency of parliament, because of the constitutional powers, in exchange for giving up the presidency of the Arab Republic.

The newspaper quoted a member of the ruling National Alliance, who declined to be named, saying that "Kurdish parties put on the coalition, as the closest to obtain a parliamentary majority, the issue of granting the Kurds the presidency of parliament, which was custom granted to the Sunni Arabs, in exchange for the Kurds to abdicate the post of President Republic ".

He added that "the desire of the Kurdish parties to obtain the presidency of the parliament, comes from the enjoyment of this post with wide constitutional powers, most notably the adoption and disabling of laws, and determine the fate of interrogations, as well as the ability to make adjustments in the federal budget and the control of the work of the executive authority, There is almost a Kurdish consensus on this desire. "

For his part, said an informed source that "the desire of the Kurds clash with a categorical rejection by the Sunni parties that adhere to the post of Speaker of the parliament," stressing that "more than one Sunni expressed their desire to take office, which may generate a conflict of positions during the next phase" , According to him.

The Iraqi Constitution grants the Speaker of the Parliament broad supervisory and legislative powers, while the President of the Republic has only been given formal protocol matters without actual powers.
