Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim said on Friday that Iraq calls for adopting the option of dialogue in resolving crises and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
"Al-Hakim met with Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Sweeney on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the International Alliance countries for a provocative defeat held in Washington, DC," the ministry said in a statement.
The two sides discussed "the bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to raise them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples, and discussed regional and international issues of common concern."
"Iraq is now a safe environment for investment," he said. "The Iraqi government is going to promote investment and provide facilities for companies and businessmen." We call on Finnish businessmen to invest especially in infrastructure in cities liberated from terrorism.
He pointed out that "the Iraqi government is determined to fight corruption and achieve stability."
For his part, Timo stressed his country's keenness to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries and their readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples.
