(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Economic expert Falah al-Lami, the openness of neighboring countries and the world on Iraq will qualify him for a historic role.
"The race is a big economic country that needs infrastructure and other systems, and everyone is aiming to cooperate with Iraq in order to get the spoils," Al-Lami told Al-Furat News. "There were many agreements with Saudi Arabia, Jordan and now with Iran."
"The shuttle visits of President Barham Saleh to many of these countries have had a profound impact on improving relations, so that Iraq will not become the focus of conflict, but a platform for cooperation," he said.
"As a result, Iraq is now a destination for all, including the Iranian side, which has reached the volume of trade exchange with Iraq since 2003 to about 12 billion dollars annually, as well as Turkey, which reached the volume of trade exchange between the two countries to about 16 billion dollars."
He pointed out that "the current Iraqi economy requires a lot of expertise for these countries, and Iran is racing with neighboring countries to get a lot of investment in Iraq," noting that "Iran provided the strongest visit to Iraq, the summit of the pyramid of power."
Lami added that "the seriousness of the implementation of these conventions is the arrival of the Prime Minister at the head of ministerial delegation."
He stressed that "the economy is driving the policy; but the biggest concern is to get the spoils from this country," adding that "Iraq gave great signals during this period to neighboring countries and neighboring that he can lead a historic phase in foreign relations."
