directed the Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Tuesday, to monitor oil prices daily and not to rely on a monthly price review.
And his media office said, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "This morning, Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi made a visit to the Ministry of Oil - SOMO."
He added, "Abdul-Mahdi reviewed a presentation from the Oil Marketing Company on the method of pricing crude oil and the implications of lower prices globally."
He continued, "The Prime Minister directed the continuous daily follow-up of the market, and that the company does not maintain its usual mechanisms in which prices are reviewed monthly."
The statement added, "He was received by the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil Thamer Al-Ghadban and a number of general managers in the ministry."
