Planning: ships coming to Iraqi ports decreased by 10.2%

Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Planning announced that vessels coming to Iraqi ports have decreased by 10.2%.
"The number of incoming cargo ships loaded at Iraqi ports is 1836 vessels for the year 2019 compared to 2044 ships for the year 2018, a decrease of 10.2%," the ministry’s Central Statistics Agency said in a report.
He added, "The number of departing cargo ships loaded from Iraqi ports reached 1284 vessels for the year 2019 compared to 995 ships for the year 2018 leaving Iraqi ports, with an increase of 29%."
He pointed out that "the tonnage of exported goods from oil ports amounted to 109772 thousand tons, and the value of that cargo amounted to 349.9 billion dinars for the year 2019, while the total tonnage of exported and imported cargo ships by chartered vessels reached 300 thousand tons for the year 2019."
Iraq exports and imports all goods and cargoes through the Arabian Gulf, its only port through several ports, the most important of which are Umm Qasr, Khor Al Zubair and Al Faw Port, while oil is exported through Basra and Khor Al Amaya ports, in addition to oil buoys.
