    Baghdad / Al-Akhbariya
On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced that the government has taken measures to protect diplomatic missions, stressing that the withdrawal of the US embassy gives wrong signals to the Iraqi people.
Hussein stated in a press conference that "protecting diplomatic missions is the duty of the government, and the withdrawal of the American embassy gives wrong signals to the Iraqi people."
He added, "The government has taken measures to protect diplomatic missions," calling on "the American administration to reconsider the decision to close the embassy."
The Foreign Minister indicated that "the government is not happy with the US administration’s decision to withdraw from Baghdad," noting that "Al-Kazemi presented the government's vision towards the American withdrawal decision."
Fouad Hussein stressed that "targeting diplomatic missions is a direct targeting of Iraq," noting that "Al-Kazemi has communicated with many leaders of countries regarding the American withdrawal decision."
He continued, "The chaos of weapons in Iraq will lead to the burning of the region," explaining that "Iran has promised us to make efforts to support the stability of Iraq."
"We will continue with the American side to change the decision to withdraw from Baghdad, and the withdrawal is not in favor of the American situation," he stressed, pointing out, "We explained during our contact with world countries about the danger of the American withdrawal from Iraq."
Hussein continued, "Reorganizing the security situation in Baghdad needs some time, and keeping violence out of society is part of the government's policy."
He pointed out that "various channels began dialogue with the factions," noting that "the Iranian-American tension is reflected in the Iraqi reality, and that" the government is serious about investigating the targeting of diplomatic missions.
The foreign minister stated that "the attacks on missions have nothing to do with resistance," stressing that "attacks on missions are unacceptable."
