The Legal Committee in the House of Representatives clarified, on Wednesday, the constitutionality of the laws and decisions of the former regime.
A member of the committee, Hussein Al-Aqabi, affirmed that "the Iraqi state legislations are not related to the dissolved Revolution Command Council only, but rather are laws for the modern Iraqi state that is 100 years old, with thousands of legislations in every ruling era from the royal and republican era and its three extensions from Abdul Karim Qasim to Ruling. He added, "It is not possible for these legislation to be executed overnight, because it is difficult to investigate, but it is possible to change legislation that intersects with the constitution and contradicts it, and its constitutionality can be challenged through the Federal Court."
