Today, Friday, the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, received the representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Iraq, Jenin Blashardt, in the presence of the Special Adviser and Head of the United Nations Investigation Team (UNITAD) Karim Khan, regarding the crimes committed by ISIS terrorist gangs.

A statement by the Media Office of the Speaker of Parliament received by Alsumaria News stated, "The meeting discussed the developments of the work of the investigation team into ISIS crimes, and the parliament's support to enact laws necessary to hold ISIS accountable for mass crimes and crimes against humanity."

For his part, Khan praised the efforts made by the House of Representatives to redress victims and achieve justice through legislation, the latest of which is the Women Survivors Law.
